strawberry plants and hummingbirds...and a realization.

i was going to start this post off
with an apology...
a "sorry this seems so much like a gardening blog lately
instead of a..."
well..of a what?
what kind of blog is this really?
how do i define it?
should i define it?
can it be defined?

and then i realized,
in my head, i correlate blog with journal.
that's why i'm not overly hung up on comments
{however, i LOVE comments, so if you do comment,
please don't stop!!!}
but if i had no comments, i don't think i would stop
coming here...day after day...

i like that at the beginning of each month,
i can go back 3 years and see where i was at.
i think it helps to make me try to think creatively.
i like thinking about it throughout the day...
what to write, what pictures to post...

and speaking of pictures...

our new hummingbird feeder....

and squirrel feeder....

and i am sooooo excited about the strawberry plants...
we have the hanging basket which she said should give a bowl
a day,
plus 20 plants for the garden...

plants waiting for the fear of frost to go away...

tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber...

i love summer.

i feel the same way about my blog, in fact i wrote for years really with only a smattering of comments here and there and didn't care because it is the diary of my life, the place i go to see where i was :)

and seeing your plants remind me to never ever ever complain about living here because i get to plant my garden on the may long weekend and you are still waiting for frost free worry :( and here i thought we had a short growing season ...

but its fun isn't it? : ) every morning as i head out on my bike, i see my veggie plants in the garden get bigger and bigger and i want to dance a little jig, tee hee

We just put our garden in this weekend. It seems late for California, but the weather has been weird. I'm not sure we'll get a bowl of strawberries all summer, never mind every day. We've gotten a few - tiny, but very sweet.

I hope you'll post pictures of the garden as it comes along. I love that stuff, all the homey, nesting, comforting things.

Adore the lighting in that last picture, the way it illuminates the leaves. Thank you for a gorgeous hit of green, the perfect nightcap to my rather greenless day! xo!
