the phonecall the teacher DIDN'T want to make.
so six's teacher called home
last thursday to say six
said he had a headache.
i went and got him.
he ended up being fine...
maybe had a headache but
as he slid down the railing on the way
out of the school
i knew he did not NEED to come home.
so six himself called home
last friday to say that he didn't feel good
and needed to come home.
i asked him if he was sure he was really that sick,
sick enough to come home
because if he did
he would have to lay on the couch for the rest
of the day and we would not be able to go
to the old fashioned carnival that night
like we had planned...
six started crying on the phone.
and in a heartbreaking sobbing voice
said "may-may-be its ju-ju-just that my
underwear are t-t-too small"
heh.
so.
i brought him over a bigger pair of underwear
and he stayed happily for the rest of the day.
and we went to the old fashioned carnival.
oh...and when i told the teacher that he seemed to
think that was the problem, she said, a little sheepishly,
"i know...he told the duty teacher that outside and
thats why i let him phone you, instead of me"
hee.

Kids are so funny. Thanks for sharing.
Oh man--that is sweet. Probably the last thing you expected to hear when you woke up this morning...but definately sweet. I don't know what it is, but every time you talk about you kids you make me want to either borrow yours or have my own!
Aaaw, I'd want to come home if my underwear felt too small too. :-)
oh yes, this made me smile. thank you for this story.
i want to be rescued on the days my underwear feel a bit too small as well.
so good to rescue someone.
Ok, that picture is hilarious. And six... oh soo cute. I'm glad his day got better.
hilarious
ohhh, that is the cutest sweetest story.
that is too funny. oh how i wish i had someone to come to my resuce on the days when my underwear feel too small :)
What a great story. If my panties were too small, than it would make for a rough day. At least he kept his story straight. (=
awwwwwwww that is just too precious and wonderful! I'm sure he'll be hearing (and eventually telling) that story for the rest of his life. It's too fantastic not to.
