where-i-am-wednesday-week-2

so...
i have not been "here" lately...
but i have been here...

-crying on the couch watching this movie...

-completely utterly totally enthralled and caught up
in this book...you NEED to read this book...i NEED
to read her other books...
-happy to have finally finished 100 years of solitude...
it was worth reading...it was hard reading, but i'm glad
that i stuck with it in the end...
i will say there was one part at the end,
one visual,
that will stay with me...
and not necessarily a happy visual,
but will stay nonetheless.

-sitting in this chair, knitting like mad,
trying to finish a baby shower gift now that
i know the shower is this tuesday coming...
ack!
-in the gawdawfuluglykitchen trying to hash out decorating
details on a pitifully small budget...here is a small
yet scary
sampling of what we are working with...

can you say "ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww". blech. yuck.

-oh...and dressing WAY out of my comfort zone for a wedding...

where have you been?

good luck with your kitchen! it's amazing what a few gallons of paint can do. i wish i could come and help because i LOVE redecorating--the more impossible the task, the better. it makes the end results that much more stunning!

As for books--dang, you have such excellent taste in literature! I feel like I should start a gkgirl reading list--well, ok, i think i already have.

I love that dress and the shoes - you look so cute!!

I must admit you're right...the kitchen is a little scary. But like Jessie said above, it's amazing what even just some paint can do to brighten things up and make them look new again.

I'm glad to hear what you thought of "100 years...". Maybe one of these days I'll stop resisting and try it.

I read a complicated kindness too. I liked it. I thought it was a little slow, but I liked it. I reveiwed it on my site awhile ago (http://blog.thesilentk.com/?p=238)
I send you the link because I love reading book reviews for books I've already read, maybe you are the same.

I added A Complicated Kindness to my list of books to one day read.

Whew... the kitchen looks a bit scary... Good luck! May the force be with you!

I actually like the dress for the wedding. I would love for my wedding colors to be black, white, and red!!!

I want to see this movie and keep forgetting, walking aimlessly up and down the aisle at the video store. You should dress outside your comfort zone more often, you look very pretty! Not that you don't in other pics, but that dress!
